time after time, carrying us through changes in the larger church, the neighborhood, the city, the nation — and the world.
While staying mindful of our heritage, the Trinity community constantly seeks new opportunities to worship and proclaim the word of God
and bring Christ's love in service all who will receive it.
Steadfast amid changes
Trinity Lutheran Church has been a beacon of Christian faith and fellowship in Northwest Philadelphia since 1836, when it began as a new type of "American" Lutheran congregation — with services only in English.
A welcoming community
"There is no distinction" (Romans 10:12) — this is how we live out the faith in our Trinity Lutheran Church community. Anyone is welcome to be our guest at worship and events, to come to know our God — and us — better!
Saved by God's grace alone, through faith
"We've Come This Far by Faith" is one of our favorite hymns at Trinity Lutheran Church. It speaks to our steadfastness to the tenets set out by Martin Luther at the Reformation: only grace, only faith, only scripture.
